The Association was formed in 1910 by ten Clubs but has expanded to include any club in the Eastern Counties of England that wishes to affiliate.

The original main object was to provide Time Trial racing for member Clubs and this has remained the back-bone of the E.C.C.A. but the Association also caters for Road, Criterium and Track Racing.
