It all started 100 years ago, when a 17-year-old boy placed a local paper advert suggesting local cyclists get together and form a Club. There were plenty of cyclists back then – it just needed some inspiration, motivation and enthusiasm to get it off the ground. The rest, as they say, is history.

In 2025 our Club celebrated a centenary of cycling under the Newbury Road Club banner. The bikes may have changed but the ethos remains. We love getting on our bikes and having fun. The spectacular surrounding landscape is our gym.  Good banter lifts our hearts. And the occasional coffee and cake is our fuel.
